This page enumerates rivers in Amaigbo. Water in Igbo language is translated as 'mmiri'. Oshimmiri means a very large river or ocean. The rivers in Amaigbo have been a good source of water supply for numerous household and other neighbouring towns. It has been a very useful source for domestic purposes such as for drinking, cooking and washing. It has also been useful for washing of breadfruits, cassava and washing of clothes. Some of the natives prefer to take the above-mentioned items to the stream for washing to ease the burden of running water errands.

It would be interesting to note that the provision of pipe-borne waters, and with some households being able to afford installing tanks/wells have curtailed the prolong use of these rivers. The rivers notwithstanding, are very useful resources for Amaigbo natives and its neighbouring environs.
